Balotelli has only one goal in mind, and he is willing to sit out a large part of the current season if it means he can achieve it.
The Italian striker is still without a club. This summer, he became a free agent, having last played for Turkish side Adana Demirspor. In the 2023/24 season, he made just 16 appearances but contributed seven goals and one assist. At 34, Balotelli has no intention of retiring. He says he has rejected many offers this year, with his sole focus being a return to Italy.
"I really want to return to Serie A, and that’s why I’m still at home, waiting for the right offer. I’ve received plenty of offers from abroad, but I don’t want to close any doors. I’ll wait a bit longer, and if Serie A doesn’t become an option, of course, I’ll consider playing elsewhere."
So far, in Italy’s Serie A, Balotelli has made 141 appearances, scoring 52 goals and providing 18 assists, which is far from a poor record. He previously played for Inter, AC Milan, Brescia, and Monza, the latter during the 2020/21 season. Abroad, he played for Manchester City, Liverpool, Marseille, FC Sion, and most recently, Adana Demirspor in Turkey.
Once considered an extraordinary talent, Balotelli never fully realized his potential due to his lack of focus and discipline.
